Get ready for the 2012 MotorMemories vintage vehicle tours sponsored by CWG Collector Car insurance! In June we’ll have the “CSI: Crime Scene Iowa” tour and, in October, the “Quad Cities Odyssey” will take place.
The June tour will take a closer look at some of the better, as well as lesser known crime stories in Iowa. Crimes and criminals fascinate us, even though they are tragic events full of sadness and evil. They are a mainstay of popular culture and criminals like Jesse James are sometimes seen to have Robin Hood qualities; robbing the rich—paying the poor.

We are proud to be associate members of the Military Vehicle Preservation Association, or MVPA. The CWG Collector Car program insures many restored and original military jeeps, trucks and even tanks that are kept for collectible purposes. In addition to our financial and personal support of the MVPA, we want to be sure that everyone knows of their 2012 membership challenge! According to an article in the most recent issue of the organizations member magazine, "Supply Line", MVPA membership peaked at 10,360 in 2002 and has slowly declined since that time. In 2012 the MVPA is making a membership push with a goal of reinvigorating former members, as well as finding new members for the organization. CWG supports the efforts and activities of the MVPA and hopes that our bringing attention to the 2012 membership challenge will help connect some of our great military vehicle customers with others in the hobby who see the great benefit in supporting the MVPA through membership. In the past couple weeks we've received a number of cards, letters and emails from customers with some great stories and pictures of their cars and experiences with CWG. Here are just a few of their comments:
I am writing to you, because you so surprised me with your "Thank You" letter regarding our collector car insurance. This is really a nice touch and I love it! A few months ago I had a claim - luckily it was not very large - and the speed and courtesy with which it was handled from your end floored me. Incredible, no deduction, no hassle, just a check! You guys are truly first class! - Klaus, Minnesota
We have been with your company for twenty some years and have been very pleased with your service. - Robert, Wisconsin
Thanks for taking care of our baby, we have been very happy with everything you have done. - Danny, Minnesota
WOW!!! What a great letter. It's a first for us to get a "personal" rather than a "form" letter from an insurance company that they appreciate our business. With this type of communique, how could we possibly consider putting our classic car insurance with anyone else. - Judy, Missouri
We strive to give our customers the attention they deserve each and every day! Don't you deserve this kind of attention? |

There is a wealth of knowledge among car collectors regarding what needs to be done to get your car ready for winter storage. Obviously seasonal storage is not an issue everywhere, but even cars put away in southern climes have issues with pests and critters making their way into a parked car. Here are some tips we'd like to pass along that we've gleaned from various sources, as well as our own experience. Primary attribution for this list goes to Dick Randall, CPCU and the Land of Lakes GTO Club!
